Stolen Quilts

Batik Cascade Ribbons by Karen Combs

I am very sad to report that fellow professional Karen Combs was the victim of a break-in to her car while in Texas this past week, and a suitcase of teaching supplies and quilts was stolen.  Please go to her blog to see the photos of the missing quilts and contact her if you have any information at all.  Many eyes might help locate these quilts.

My heart goes out to Karen.  Having something stolen that is so much a part of you as your quilts must be terrible, and to have vital supplies and samples for her classes and her work taken is an added assault.

Let's hope these quilts can be located and returned, and meanwhile show our support to Karen.

Thanks!
Diane

This is just awful, Diane. I hope that Karen's quilts and supplies are returned to her. Shame on the person (or people) that broke into her car. As though that weren't bad enough to damage her vehicle, then they had to steal the contents! I hope they're caught and punished, too!

Thanks for putting the word out. I'm sure Karen appreciates your post.

It is great seeing so many quilters put this information out on blogs and facebook. Karen taught at my guild a couple years ago and is such a nice person.

That is so sad. Hopefully, the stolen items will be located soon! Thank you, Diane, for letting us know.

Thanks everyone, and for all who have helped saturate the internet with this info - I hope the quilts can be found. Other things are being done, people are really helping Karen try to recover these. Sad day though when something such as this happens to a fellow quilter.

BTW Wisconsin has become Miami, setting all-time heat records for March. Grass needs mowing, had to find summer clothes, good grief. Winter is bad but I always enjoy the long ascent into warmer weather, not this shock treatment! First DST, now summer in March. I'm too old to adjust. :-)

Were these quilts ever found? I'm thinking pinterest would be very helpful in finding them if reposted now. I'd be happy to.
